The main thing that is going on right now in Trident is code refactoring. We are taking into serious consideration made by drtshock and t00thpick of their accusations against Trident as "copy-pasted" code. In light of this, we have switched over to GPL in order to make it compatible with Bukkit. The thing is, our work is original. We'd like to keep our license, the BSD license, so Trident can be free to use, modify, and improve. There are some pretty big things happening in our lives/within development at the moment, so approval and discussion of these changes is limited.
First of all, Mazen, our project lead, has just moved, and is busy unpacking/setting up everything at his house.
Unfortunately, the developer for Trident's protocol emulation, UltimateBudgie, has been dead silent for several weeks now.
Vilsol, the web developer, is taking a break, along with TigerReborn, and Mythbusterma.
But, good news, we have 2 new members, Twister, and Sam Sun. Welcome to the team guys. Twister's been silent for a while.
Sam is working with me to produce the TridentSDK design document and look for bugs.
Until then, we will be working on world loading and finding the correct packets to send to the client so they can join.
Finally, we'd like to hear from the community. Our API is the likes of Bukkit, basically lots of objects and two separate projects for the API and implementation. How would you like it?
Update: The situation regarding legal instability with the TridentSDK source has even resolved. It has been determined as invalid and TridentSDK is now legally stable. The response to this can be found here
We have also found UltimateBudgie. While looking through the old chat messages, I found a message old communication platform saying that Skype (where we discussed an even newer chat) was not working for him. Hopefully, he will check again!
